Your hair needs a constant and steady supply of protein and iron. Both contribute to constant hair growth. If you are looking at quality, make sure you have enough magnesium, zinc, and calcium. As a matter of fact, zinc deficiency is related to dry and brittle hair.

In some cases, a healthy diet doesn’t necessarily mean better hair growth. For example, if you follow a vegan diet, you are bound to suffer from hair fall due to the absence of conventional protein sources. So, what you actually need to do is provide the necessary nutrients essential for hair growth.

Steroids Lead to Baldness

Men like to associate their masculinity with their physique. Sometimes the pressure gets too high that you end up going the extra mile by artificially increasing your testosterone level with steroids. However, while your muscles grow, the opposite is happening to your hair. 

The reason why men have a higher tendency to go bald is because of testosterone itself. What happens is that the hormone tends to bind and attack hair follicles causing them to shut down. So, adding more testosterone to your system will only fuel this phenomenon.

The worst part is that the effects are irreversible. Dead hair follicles are permanent. What was supposed to happen in a later stage of your male lifecycle occurs much earlier due to the artificially induced steroids. You are also going to find steroids among different types of medication as well and they can also play a role in your hair loss.

Medication

Pay attention to the medicines you take because a lot of drugs include hair loss as a potential side effect. It can be as small as your multivitamins or as crucial as your blood pressure medications. 

Stress

Suffering from high amounts of stress can result in two conditions. One is Telogen effluvium which is the tendency of the body to put follicles in a resting phase. When that happens, hair dies resulting in hair fall. Another is alopecia areata wherein the immune system attacks the hair follicles, again resulting in hair loss.

Regardless of the condition you have, only one is the culprit and that is stress. It can be from your work or from a traumatic experience. Even stress induced by lack of sleep contributes to the development of conditions that result in your hair loss.

 

While there are a lot of hair growth products in the market, the most sustainable way for healthy hair is by changing your lifestyle. Sometimes, it only takes one small adjustment for your hair to flourish and make that bald spot go away.
