The Ukraine conflict is not a local or regional war anymore. The war has caused a great deal of turmoil and has left many people without a place to call home.  It is one of the most significant geopolitical developments of the 21st century and the ultimate outcome of this crisis can change the world as we know it, and not in a good way.

Russia’s habit of invasion & its impact :

Russia has a history of invading its neighbors, namely Georgia and Chechnya, but their invasion of Ukraine is the most recent example. In 2014, Moscow acknowledged that Russian troops were fighting in Ukraine. While on the surface it appears to be a civil war, Russia’s involvement is clearly seen as an act of blatant aggression against its neighbors.

Russia is a world superpower, and with its military might, it has had a great impact on the fighting in Ukraine. Russia’s military across the whole country is one of the most formidable in the world. With more than 1 million active troops and close to 2 million reserve troops, it’s clear that Russia has an edge when it comes to its army.

What Can Be Done To Stop It?

The first step in stopping this war is to identify the reasons it began. There are many theories as to why Russia invaded Ukraine, but they all boil down to one thing: a desire to keep its sphere of influence intact. The only way forward is to deter Putin from further aggression by making him fear repercussions for his actions.

This might be possible if NATO forces intervene with enough force and resolve. Either through sanctions or military action, NATO must make it costly for Putin to continue his aggression against Ukraine.

Another way to stop this war is by establishing an international coalition between countries that have not yet been involved. This will help bring everyone together and hopefully ease some of the tension between NATO and Russia, which has been building ever since the annexation of Crimea in 2014.
