Zero new COVID cases in NSW

National Australian news

NSW is celebrating the zero new Covid case 2nd day in a row.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian told is asking for more testing to keep the new covid cases as low as possible. NSW govt. is encouraging to residents to go for testing if they have the symptoms.

“I am worried about the lower rate of testing,” she said, noting only about 6,400 people were tested on Sunday.

“Can I please encourage everybody not to get complacent. Make sure when you are out and about that everybody is socially distanced … if you’re with the family in school holidays, if you’re at a venue or outdoors, please note the threat of virus is still around us.

“The only reason we’ve done well is because everyone has been careful, has been following the health warnings. I don’t want to lull us into a false sense of security. We have to keep the virus at bay.”

NSW has done a great job by keeping new cases in control so far. Melbourne is also trying a variety of strategies to make sure restrictions are in place and people are following the social distancing and other COVID safety policies.

Restrictions will come off and ease of course at all place once the medical professionals declare it is safe to do so. Once medical experts give a clean chit then govt. officials can work on easing the restrictions.
